Support to the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) National Reference Points (NRPs)

- Further developing guidelines and procedures to enhance internal and external quality assurance mechanisms;
- Encouraging and supporting VET providers to introduce innovative elements in teaching and learning;
- Promoting additional elements of the EQAVET framework and ensuring the implementation of the EQAVET cycle;
- Analysing the status of VET at National Level and engaging with other countries to enhance the transparency and consistency of quality assurance arrangements.

External Quality Assurance Provider Accreditation Manual for Higher Education Institutions
This manual was prepared by MFHEA in 2023 and reflects the provisions of the Further & Higher Education Act, the Further & Higher Education (Licensing, Accreditation and Quality Assurance) Regulations, and the National Quality Assurance Framework for Further and Higher Education. It is applicable to the external quality assurance processes conducted by the MFHEA and is specifically applicable to:
- Self-accredited providers
- Universities
- Higher education institutions/providers
Statistics on VET
This report is based on the recommendation of the European Council for a European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) Reference Framework. It presents data in the form of indicators, giving insight into the status of vocational education and training (VET) in Malta.

National Handbook for VET Providers
This handbook was prepared by the MFHEA in 2023 as part of the Erasmus+ Programme project “Support to the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) National Reference Points (NRPs).” Its main purpose is to help VET institutions improve their quality assurance systems and enhance the quality culture in said institutions.
Guidelines for QA for courses that include a work-based learning component
This document was prepared by the MFHEA in 2023 to aid providers in performing quality assurance when their courses include a work-based learning component (WBL). WBL components can take the form of work placements, apprenticeships and/or internships.

The Malta Further and Higher Education Authority presented a Webinar on Experiential Teaching and Learning as part of the Erasmus + Programme project ‘Support to the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) National Reference Points (NRPs).’ The main aim of the Webinar on Experiential Teaching and Learning was to guide VET institutions, their staff, trainers, and students on how experiential teaching and learning could support and enhance student engagement with course material, provide diverse opportunities for collaboration, and develop the self-confidence and soft skills of teachers and students alike.
